Which Word List Does the Poople Archive Use?

Our calculations use the four-letter words in the latest game bundle we checked. Saved daily records retain the list-check date from their original verification run. Earlier entries reconstructed for this archive use a later checked list, which may differ from the words accepted on their original day. Their par is compared with the number in the game's schedule; a mismatch stops the build. Route counts for those older entries describe the later checked list, not a proven original-day count.

How We Verify Every Poople Archive Entry

We add a puzzle only after its scheduled close. The game bundle supplies its number, date, start word and published par. Our own solver checks the shortest ladder to POOP and counts routes that share that minimum. We reject a historical entry if our shortest length disagrees with the published par. Each listed date and start word is rendered in the initial HTML, while the search controls only hide or show rows in your browser.

What does "par" mean in Poople?

Par is the shortest verified number of single-letter moves from a puzzle's start word to POOP. Matching that minimum is the challenge.

Why is my solution different from the one shown?

Several legal ladders may reach POOP. Every adjacent pair must differ in one letter and use a word accepted by the checked list. We show the number of shortest routes for each entry, and the full route for the latest closed puzzle above. Reconstructed historical counts use a later checked word list.
